Game Jam 2026 brought together Uganda’s gaming community. Twenty-one participants attended, including one female participant overall. Event organizers launched livestream, attracting 47 online viewers. Yasmina encouraged women to fight for opportunities increasingly. Participants were advised targeting international gaming markets confidently. Five teams developed diverse culturally inspired game concepts. Black team created Border to Boda, celebrating Ugandan. Orange team developed wildlife puzzle game Endangered Memory. Blue team created Dynasty, inspired by Uganda’s history. Pink team developed Last Medicine, set in Kibale. Red team created Nyanya Mbisi, a cooking game. Power outages caused some teams to lose work. Mentors provided coding, audio, character, and technical assistance. Most participants worked overnight, reaching substantial development progress. Leaders planned funding, partnerships, incubation, and stronger KPIs.
